In a world where you could find virtually every type of yoga class, finding a quality class (and instructor) can be harder than it seems.
Despite seeing endless images of hyper-flexible yoga students all over social media, you don’t need to be super bendy to have a solid yoga practice.
My intention as an instructor is to guide and support my students through vinyasa style classes that challenge the mind and body. I want my students to surrender in their practice. I want my students to have fun and feel free to move vulnerably in a completely judgement free space. No egos. Positive vibes. Limitless potential.
My classes begin with a few minutes of quiet meditation to get centered and bring awareness to our internal noise. These first few minutes allow students to focus on how and where in their body they are breathing.
I love a class that is challenging and tests our limits because I think it’s important to push ourselves. I’m also aware that everyone has a different body and different limitations so making the class accessible for everyone is important. I like to offer several options for my students so they can take it where they want to that day.
A mix of traditional and some not so traditional movements followed with tiny bursts of relaxation is my go-to. My hope is that my students leave feeling more empowered, stronger, and confident in their bodies.
Classes end with a brief cool down until my personal favorite, Savasana. I save a few minutes for this juicy part of class so students can release any last bits of tension and soak in their hard work.
I always teach a different class and you can always expect a fresh playlist. There are way too many things in life that are repetitive and mundane; I don’t think our yoga practice should be one of them.
I will always do my best to take care of my students and provide something for everyone. If you’ve taken my class, you already know I have your back! And I am happy to guide you along your yoga journey, in any way that I can. I look forward to seeing you on the mat.
